Gallery Reception: Takanori Horikawa

The Frederick Harris Gallery invites Members to an evening of discourse over complimentary wine and canapés.

Ceramic artist Takanori Horikawa was born in Nagasaki City and began his creative journey while working in store design, contributing to fashion events and window displays.

Following recognition at the Traditional Crafts New Works Exhibition, he founded Kiryuan Pottery Studio in 2001.

Now based in Tachikawa, Tokyo, Horikawa presents his work through solo exhibitions and designs custom tableware for restaurants, while also leading pottery classes.

Artworks are available for purchase through Member Services.

Moment I realized I wanted to become an artist.
I didn’t decide to become an artist, but became it as a result of continually imagining a lifestyle.

What I would tell my 20-year-old self.
I'm having fun everyday.

My perfect creative environment.
Place where there is an ocean in front and mountains behind.

Artist, living or dead, I’d most like to share a meal with.
